New INSTRUCTOR special! Our newest instructor is Sorin Obreja from Atlanta. His first days in the studio will be Thursday-Saturday May 8-10. Book a lesson with Sorin for one of those days for the bargain price of $50! Sorin will also be teaching a group class in Bachata (a rumba-like dance for those songs that don't fit the rumba rhythm) at 8 p.m. on Thursday May 8 (just after Johnny and Alisha's New Yorker Salsa class). Come learn this fun new dance, and don't forget to book a private lesson with Sorin. To reserve your time slot, call Ken at 274-2650. Ladies Choice returns May 9! Our May 9 party will be "Ladies Choice", so all you guys can get ready to be extra popular at this dance. Country Western/Linedance party May 10: Due to popular demand, we are having a Country Western party featuring linedancing (mostly electric slide and tush push) on Saturday, May 10 from 8-10 p.m. There will also be two-step, swing, west coast, etc. Bring your favorite CD's for requests! 
Julia Ivleva and Igor Litvinov return on May 11--contact Johnny Tang to book a session with Julia or Igor. If you missed them before, they are the 2006 Ohio Star Ball Showdance Winners and winners of the 2007 Hotlanta Standard Ballroom competition. They are ranked #2 in the U.S. in International Standard.
Got Dresses? Academy Ballroom is now carrying ballroom and party outfits. If we don't
have exactly what you want, we can order a custom dress for you. (Custom dresses take 4 to 6
weeks to arrive, so plan NOW for summer comps and showcases!). We have NOT moved: The MPC has renumbered the shopping center (again!), so our address is now 1519 Downtown West, but we're still in the same location. Kids Groups! On Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 5 p.m. we now have classes for Juniors (kids 7 and up).

Next Brad Walker Orchestra is June 13, starting a series of appearances
on the second Friday of each month. Due to special circumstances, the May 9 performance
had to be rescheduled.
